Emergency services in Chester County are provided by highly-motivated and well-trained individuals who answer calls from their fellow citizens for “first-responder” assistance. The fundamental desire to help others is the cornerstone of all emergency services, but constant technological advances in equipment, communications, medical response, fire suppression and control of the scene of operations have placed a tremendous burden on our emergency responders. Your financial support for the Chester County Public Safety Training Foundation (CCPSTF) will help fund the creation of a state-of-the-art facility designed specifically to meet the varied skills training needs of our 5000-plus emergency responders including fire, police and EMS personnel living and working here in Chester County. Your support recognizes the sacrifices made by these brave individuals and also helps with recruiting additional “first-responders.”

The CCPSTF was established in 2006 to best address the emergency services and anti-terrorism needs of Chester County residents. The Foundation is designing and building a public safety training facility to provide state-of-the-art training for 5,000-plus first responders including fire, police and EMS personnel. Presently, no such unified training facility exists in Chester County. Many first responders must travel outside the county for training at great personal and public expense. The facility, consisting of 15-17 training structures in a “Tactical Village” and an academic building, is slated to cost approximately $40 million and will be located on the former PECO Energy property in East Fallowfield Township. Fundraising is underway during which contributors, including businesses, foundations, governmental agencies and the county’s 468,000 residents will be able to provide support for the development of this project.
